About the magazine
Wishbone Words Magazine was founded in 2021 by Hollie Warren in the Lake District, UK. Upon finishing her Creative Writing degree, Hollie decided to start an online space for disabled and chronically ill writers and artists.
There are often limited opportunities for people with disabilities to advocate for themselves in an authentic way, and disabled talent is often overlooked. This online format will hopefully bring readers comfort whether they're in bed or in a hospital waiting room.
The idea is to allow healing through vulnerability, advocate for invisible disability and rare conditions and to showcase underrepresented voices.
