About the magazine
Wishbone Words Magazine was founded in 2021 by Hollie Warren in the Lake District, UK. Upon finishing her Creative Writing degree, Hollie decided to start an online space for disabled and chronically ill writers and artists.
She found there was often limited opportunities for people with disabilities to advocate for themselves in an authentic way, and disabled talent is often overlooked. This online format will hopefully bring you comfort whether you're in bed or in a hospital waiting room.
The idea is to create a safe, supportive and understanding platform to share our voices, allow healing through vulnerability and to showcase underrepresented talents and voices.
